Has anyone here tried to take a holistic approach to preventing and easing their anxiety? I always hear of holistic meds out there and wondering if something like that might be better for me. Is that something you have to get a prescription for? Can your regular doc recommend it or would you have to see a physician who specializes in holistic health and healing? Any advice would be great as I'm trying to decide a path to take medication wise to alleviate this stress and prevent a recurrence of my spending the entire day in the ER on Thrusday for extreme palpitations. It was truly bad that i was there for 7 hrs and the doc ended up having to give me a beta blocker to slow my heart rate down. It was up to 110 when i was just laying in the bed. After several tests including a CAT scan since they wanted to see if it was blood clots in the lungs, everything came back ok and luckily that medication kicked in and i couldn't feel my heart bouncing through my chest. I really want to prevent having to go through that, and having to put my poor family through that AGAIN!! so like i said, just looking for words of wisdom of advice from people who go au natural. Thanks

I know that meditation has really helped me. In the past, I tended to stress out over next to nothing. It always seemed that others around me were coping so much better. I can now drop what I'm doing, take a few cleansing breaths & use what I learned from my therapist. He called it a *centering sequence.* It uses a combination of imagery, step by step relaxation & meditation.
