My day

So, it's been some day. I can't believe I'm still awake. I'm in a sharing mood, so here goes:
You would not believe the wild goose chase I've been on. I was out 9 till 4:30. Oh my gosh. Last-minute mortgage stuff, she's an idiot, and I waited five hours at Pep Boys for a tire change.
Letters to write:
Complaint: Pep Boys for making a pregnant woman wait that long for a simple tire change. I don't care if it's first-come, first-served; my problem took a whole 10 minutes to resolve.
Praise: SunTrust for writing a letter, making a copy of my cashier's check at the very last minute, and faxing it to my loan officer in Front Royal.
Miscellaneous: After calling Barb (loan officer) today to make sure it was OK to get the cashier's check, I had to wait for a call back. It didn't happen, and the bank was about to close in 20 minutes. I call again, and she goes, "Which bank are you at? I just went to SunTrust."
I still live in Manassas--not Front Royal!! The woman was looking for me at another bank when all I wanted was a call back to confirm!!!
So we verified stuff, and she told me she needed a copy of the check and a letter to verify funds. How come what she told Alex yesterday wasn't good enough (that she would call SunTrust to verify our funds in the Money Market account). I think by this time I was running on fumes, really.
So I went inside and got the office VP to write a letter, then I went to this sweet teller with whom I had dealt just a few minutes earlier (about the cashier's check), and she asked to whom I needed the check made out. I called Barb, and of course I had the name wrong. Luckily the check hadn't been written. Then when I got off the phone, the teller asked if the name of the title company had an "and." My preggo brain couldn't remember, so I finally surrendered and said, "I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and I, I can't remember what I even told you." That really broke the ice, and she started relating her moving to town to my closing on the house and ohhhh, you're pregnant (me), too! After some more chit-chat, she did her business, I thanked her and wished her well, then went back to the VP to have her fax my goods. She called Barb, too, to verify what she wanted.
Anyway, that was probably the first time I really had a positive customer-service experience in the midst of the usually crappy treatment around here. I really appreciated the teller's kindness, especially since the bank was about to close! The VP was very kind and reassuring as well. Those two are getting thank-you cards from me.
I'm going to do more of that, too, because in times like this, it's easy to overlook the few folks in the service industry (especially financial) who manage to brighten my day.
And now, I am still waiting for Barb to call me back to let me know she received my fax. Wait, wait, wait. Good Lord.
Oh, and that title company? Its name has an ampersand. :) I actually yelled, "Woo!!" My cats enjoyed that.
(Also, I was planning to move the computer box around and work on the good computer, but I just got home, so yeah. Maybe in a little bit. I'm so wiped out.)
And that's my story. I was calm most of the time--just testy.

whew! kendra, sounds like you had quite the day! Im truly impressed that managed to stay calm through out. After everything you've been through this past week i would have been livid and yelling at every costumer service rep that crossed my way.
big props :)

Thanks, Mia! But ahhhh, the night is young. :)

where's Front Royal btw? is it also in the DC area?
I used to live in DC, in the city, but whenver i wanted to go shopping we'd go to some huge outlet mall around Manassas.
