Question for you guys

Hey guys. I see that a lot of people with anxiety here have a lot of things going on in there lives that are causing the anxiety. I don't know the real cause for my anxiety....it's not because of any events or anything and I still don't know what the root of it is.
Are there others dealing with anxiety and just as lost as I am as to where it is all coming from???
Sometimes it's very scarey not knowing 'why' it's happening.

Hi! Nice to see you posting, Nina:) I have had anxiety/panic for 35 years. I gave up on the why. It seems that sometimes I can find a connection to my anxiety & an event. Other times, the attacks strike out of the blue. ITA with Suz. Focus on how to cope with the anxiety. It really doesn't matter for me to know what caused my anxiety. I can't control every aspect of my life & things happen. I wish you the best & hope you join in our discussions more often. GBU! (((hugs))) jan

For me it seems the anxiety is always there even in unstressful times. Right now I am going through a lot of stress and it makes the anxiety worse but there doesn't have to be a particular reason or event in my experience to go along with the anxiety.

Nina, i guarantee that you are not alone. I have such a happy go lucky life, nothing traumatic has ever happened to me and yet I still have anxiety!

there probably a number of root causes for it, but its impossible to really figure them out. I mean it could be genetic, it could also be a simple dispositional thing, it could be something you learned from an adult in your life as a child.

anyway i just wanted to let you know that you're not alone

Thanks for sharing you guys. I feel like I'm crazy sometimes because I don't know where it came from exactly and 'I should know'.
I did find that growing up I was made felt guilty for a lot of things and always felt like I did things wrong. Any mistake that I believe I made throughout life makes me anxious and sick when I think "I DID SOMETHING WRONG". It's not one specific thing, but certain things bother me more than others. I just think if I didn't have the anxiety I would be thinking more logically about things in my life.
I just hope to get rid of this for good and be happy with who I am, mistakes and all!

Nina
