Hey Elaine,

I take my lexapro at night because it makes me very tired. my Dr. said that usually SSRI's make you tired or wired. It just depends on you.

How are you doing?

I usually take my lexapro in the late afternoon. It really doesn't make much of a difference. It is when you can remember a time of day that is good for you. If you just started taking it, you might want to take it at night because it could make you a little sleepy. That side effect will go away. Lots of luck, JD

I'm not taking an SSRI right now, Elaine. But I have taken different meds in the past. I was on prozac for a couple of years & I know that it's recommended to be taken early in the day. It's been known to keep ppl awake @ night. I hope others post a reply to your good question. We're all effected differently by meds & it is possible that some folks suffer insomnia & can't take their pills @ bedtime. It would be a good thing to know. Good luck! (((hugs))) jan
