Hi Everyofside effects ne,
I met with the MD today, and he prescribed Zoloft and some medicine that begins with a C. (I wrote it down, then dropped off the prescription at the pharmacy.
My question is....has anyone suffered side effects from the Zoloft? I am a little nervous about taking meds.I hope it helps.
Thanks for making me feel so welcome !

You always have a choice; you don't have to take the meds

I just went on Zoloft about a month ago...Starting out at low dose 12.5 to be increased up to 100MG...I'm currently at 75MG. The only side affects I have had is diahhrea (yuck) the first day I up the dosage...and a little bit of decreased appetite, but that is good because I am trying to lose weight! LOL!
I haven't noticed much of a change yet, but my pdoc says I probably won't notice until I am up to the 100MG, so I am very optimistic. I have anxiety, panic disorder and agoraphobia...I also take xanax but will be switching to ativan once I am on the full dose of Zoloft.
I hope the Zoloft works for you too! Good Luck, and keep us posted on your progress,k?
Thanx!

Hi! Welcome back. I have had success with antidepressants in the past. Anafranil, effexor & luvox were the best @ controlling anxiety & helping with my panic disorder. I did have some sexual side effects, dry mouth, sleepiness for the first week or so, but nothing scary. We have others here that do very well on zoloft. If you need more info on it, try the antidepressant med board. I go there for the latest info & find it helpful. Good luck! Keep in touch. We want you to feel better. (((hugs))) jan

Hi. I started on 25mg of Zoloft for a week, then 50mg for 2 weeks, then 100mg. I went back down to 50mg once I felt I was doing much better after being on 100mg for 4 months. For the first month or two, I had night sweats and I had vivid dreams. I still have vivid dreams, not necessarily bad dreams, just lots of dreams and quite a few of them per night that I remember a lot of detail from, mostly very trivial things. I feel much better though. My anxiety is nothing like it used to be. Now I just have a slight moment here and there and not an everyday thing that controlled me like before.

I found your experience with Zoloft very interesting...I was put on Zoloft almost a month ago, and have gradually increased the dosage every 5-7 days...I am finally at 100mg's, starting yesterday...I too have noticed very vivid dreams, but they have been fun, interesting ones, not scary at all, in fact, they were so good for a couple of days there, I wanted to go back to sleep, and finish them to see what happened! hee hee!
What a interesting side effect.
Thanx for sharing that, I thought I was just having a couple really good dreams, but now I am encouraged that the Zoloft must be starting to work. :0D

Glad to share. I have to say that the Zoloft has really helped me. Now, if I just start to get worked up a little or have the intrusive thoughts or weird feeling, it is like I can feel it being lifted away from me whereas before, I would go into a bad state of mind and get all anxious and sometimes physically ill. That used to happen daily to me. It was awful. I am glad I stuck with the Zoloft. It took a good 2 months to make me feel like it was really working, and then by the 3rd or 4th month I really started to even out and feel normal again.
My dreams are not bad ones usually either, just very vivid and detailed. Some are weird or make no sense, and at first I was a bit puzzled by this, but I read about it and the doc also said it was a normal side effect some people have. Some people I know that take it have this too. The only time I think it becomes a problem for some people is when they analyze it too much or feel that it is not normal. Some of mine seem to have little details that are just totally off the wall but I do not let it bother me anymore. I just let it go. And I too have had some good ones.
