Here's whats going on...

Since I got me period about 1.5 weeks ago I haven't been feeling great.. it seems as though the anxiety from PMS hasn't gone away.

I can think about nothing else except my anxiety, I feel like I'm in a fog most of the time.

I am tired ALL the time. Dh and I have been talking about it and we think that maybe I am on to much lexapro and that I seemed to be more tired about 4 weeks after I increased it. So, that is a thought.

The other possibility is just the season starting to change... also I have just gotten back on my diet and it may be that too. I have started exercising more and eating right again also taking my vitamins.

AND My Mom had surgery for diverticulitis and then this past January she had a blockage from scar tissue that required surgery..

well she just went and saw a specialist again and she has to go in for a colonoscopy on the 27th.. I am SO SCARED. She is having a lot of blood again... She eats right and shouldn't have any blood. She is scared also.. so that has been on my mind.

Anyway just wanted to share and see if anyone has any input....

Hugs,

Hi Heather-
I know what you mean. You posted that you notice your symptoms being worse during your cycle, my husband noticed that about me too. This time though, I am so anxious and amd waiting for something to happen. However, I have these stomach aches and am just tierd. I want whatever is going on to just stop. I want to feel normal like I did before this all started in July. I'm sure you are okay. You may also need more iron, since you loose alot during that time. feel free to chat if you need!
Question, do your hands ever feel tingly, warm and cold??

Have a nice morning, Donna

My T's & P's are with you & your mom. I think it has alot to do with hormones AND the change in season, Heather. I am having alot of difficulty getting through a day without having a few crying jags. As Terry(the button) in a recent post mentioned, the fewer hours of light can really affect us. Have you ever thought of light therapy? I am seriously considering it. I can hardly face another winter): Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan

Hi Donna,

YES I also want to feel normal again.. someday....

Yes, my hands and feet always feel numb when i get anxious. In fact early on before I knew that I had anxiety I had dh take me to the hospital because my hands and feet were numb and I thought that I was going paralized. they did all kinds of tests and came up with nothing.. now i know that it was anxiety.

As far as the iron goes, i am all set there. I have had my blood tested many times.. my hemoglobin and hematicrit are both high so I keep getting CBC's done. I n fact i have to go back soon and if its still high then I have to see a blood specialist.

Take Care and let me know if you have any more questions..

Hugs,

Hi Heather,
I agree with anxiety coincinding with that time of the month. I have been keeping track and it seems as if every month that is when I really feel anxious. On top of that, you are now worrying about the health of your mom. I went through a tough time when my mom got sick and had to get a stent put in her. She is my only parent and my best friend...it always makes me anxious when I think about something happening to her.

Just try to relax and take some quiet time for yourself. I know it's easier said than done! :)

Take care, Cassia

I am curious about the light therapy. Is this something you go to a dr's office for or can you purchase the equipment for use at home? If anyone has ever tried it, I would like to hear about the results.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link. Now I am more sure that I should try it. Only thing is I have never found out where they can be purchased. Does anyone know or should I search the web?

You could try the AD meds board or Depression Support board. I bet someone knows. Or you can use the iVillage search @ the top of this page. Make sure you set the search to web. I have pretty good luck with finding things to purchase that way, Alison. (((hugs))) jan

Hi Alison,
My dh purchased a Go Lite last winter and he just swears by it. We will both be using it this fall and winter.
Here is a link for Go Lite (However we purchased it at another online store that sold it for much less expensive)

http://www.apollohealth.com/golite.html

This site tells all about it, how it works, and has a free self-assessment test.
HTH!

Heather, im so sorry to hear you've been lousy for the past 2 weeks, and about your mom's health. I hope everything works out for your mother, it doesn't like anything life threatening thank goodness.

Maybe it is a good idea to discuss with your doctor the possibility of decreasing your medication again. After all (even though you may disagree) it seems like you are doing better lately, and maybe you can try going back to a lower dosage again with adequate results. Also, having lots of anxiety can make you fatigued and leave you feeling in a "fog" .

anyway, my only real input is to take each day in stride and to stay strong. you'll get through this! and try not to focus too much on the fog that you're in. I know it's really hard right now, but it will help.
