And--one-year anniversary of living here

I forgot to mention that September 17 marked one year since I moved to Virginia with Alex and our cats.

It's so odd to think that one year ago I arrived in a Xanax fog*, a little less weepy but still anxious about living so far from what I knew. I am thrilled not to work outside the home (I was going to months ago through a temp agency, but nothing solidified because I wanted to work part-time and keep it low-stress), although I feel guilty about it from time to time. But I realize how blessed I am to have a husband who is so OK with my part-time status (I do general transcription and don't make much money) and now states that my full-time job is to grow our baby. :) Some guys wouldn't be so understanding, and I'm so lucky he's given me the time to adjust to this area and our new life. In some ways, it's smart that we're up here and away from some of my family baggage (serious mental illness in family back home). I've grown a bit more independent and finally managed to make a girlfriend up here--someone who actually crafts, in fact!

So thanks to you all who supported me during that trying time a year ago, and who continued to support me upon my return after my hiatus from the board. Have a wonderful Monday as we count down the days till autumn. :)

Kendra :)

*My cats were on Xanax, too, believe it or not. Oh, the stories I have about that!

Kendra,
You are doing SO GREAT!
WOW, Can you believe it's been a year? How time flies!
I am so glad I met you a little over a year ago. Geez, I email with you as much as I do with my bf of 20 yrs! LOL! :0)
I truly treasure our friendship, Kendra.
And I can't wait to see your new home, and especially beautiful Mia when she arrives!
Sending you BIG HUGS!

Thanks, Jan. That is such a boost to my self-esteem. You always say the kindest things. It's been a pleasure to remain with this group a year later.

Take care,
Kendra

Thanks! We're hoping to finish painting Mia's room and then the kitchen this week. The place is going to look like a funky nightclub when we're done. We are so not afraid of color. (We might scare our visitors, though!)

Slowly I'm getting stuff done. I've been thinking about too much at once and then just stopping. Bah. So eventually, you'll see pics of everything. I just hope I can get Christmas cards out on time this year!

Take care,
Kendra

Hey,What colors did you use?
With dh being a painter, along with all of the other things he does, We are not (or I guess I should say, HE is not!) afraid of colors either...
I can't wait to hear about your color scheme!
Dh has been wanting to paint our dining room that deep 'almost blood red' color, and I will not let him. But I may wake up one of these days with it already done! (That wouldn't be the first time he painted a color I said 'no' to) hee hee!

Can't wait to see pics!

You Take Care too, and have a HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
hugs,
shasta
