Woke up sick...

I could cry if I had the energy. I woke up feverish, cruddy, congested, sore, etc. this morning. This couldn't have happened at a worse time, I have alot to do today with school. There is no possible way to take it easy. Tomorrow (thur) I have clinical at the hospital so today I have to get my prep work and do hours of homework.

Why oh why is there not a cure for the common cold. Ok I actually do know why but that is beside the point ;-)

Hope everyone else is doing ok, I had a nice time in chat last night! Does anyone have any good tips for sleep? When I start feeling anxiety I usually end up awake all night with "attack". Then I get run down, sick, tired, grouchy, cannot concentrate. I need to avoid this tonight. I have been having trouble the past 3 weeks with Wednesday nights, tonight I really need to relax, avoid anxiety attack, and get some sleep. I have to be up by 5:00am ...to be a student nurse.

Thanks,
Lisa

GM, Lisa! Sorry to hear about the cold. That's a bummer. You do sound stressed & with the lack of sleep picking up colds & odd bugs will happen more frequently. As a student nurse, I think you know that. Well, as one nurse to another, drink lots of fluids, hit the chicken soup, rest when you can & try this article on iVillage with 5 ways to better sleep. http://health.ivillage.com/sleep/slinsomnia/0,,7q7nbb00,00.html

Gees, Lisa, that stinks! Maybe that's why you are feeling anxious? Whenever I'm run down, sick or about to be sick, overtired or stressed my anxiety is through the roof. When I was a student nurse, I was anxious often! Jan gave you the right advice, just rest when you can. You could try meditating at night, that has been working for me. I'm glad you came to chat, we have alot of fun there. Good luck with clinicals!

HI Lisa, Carbs help you sleep! Relaxing music helps also.
I take meds that help me sleep so this is no longer a
problem for me but I remember it well--- everything looks so
much worse at night!! GOOD LUCK with clinicals!! I am sure
it is nerve wracking--- Judy
