Doctor Update

Well ladies I went to the clinic this morning and did get to talk with the doctor for a few minutes. She suggested I continue on the Lexapro for awhile yet as it's probable not gotten fully into my system yet (only been on it a month) and that it was one of the meds that worked on anxiety and depression. I've got another appointment next Sat. and we'll talk more about it at that time. Figured maybe I'ld talk with her about maybe giving me a secondary med (one I don't need to take on a daily basis but a boost when I need it) She also suggested if the Lexapro doesn't seem to be working we'll try changing me to effexor. I'm hoping the Lexapro works cause after reading on the two meds I liked the sound of it better but hey I'm open for change if that's what it turns out I need. So far today is going good and my mood is definatly better. Going to spend some time grooming the horse and playing with the puppy, my animals seem to have a calming effect on me. Hope all of you are having a good day.

Awesome, Keitha! You are doing all the right things & I am confident you'll get a handle on the anxiety/depression. You didn't get into this fix overnight, but like all of us, you are impatient to get back to normalcy ASAP. It may take sometime. Enjoy your small successes. I am so happy to learn that you have your animals to tend. It's a proven fact that they are great stress reducers & can keep your blood pressure down. Everytime I pet my cats, I remind myself of that & I feel even calmer. Good luck! You have a great day, too! (((hugs))) jan

kethia,

I am happy to hear that you are doing better. The good days are always the ones to treasure. Stay on the lexapro, it took a while for it to really work for me... how many mg's are you one.

take Care,
