I am so sorry if anybody took what I said the wrong way. I didn't mean, in any possible way, that meds aren't helpful. I just believe that sometimes people try to rely on a magic pill to make them feel better. I used to feel that way myself, until I ended up in a psych ward with suicidal ideation, that's when I realized that medication alone can only do so much. If you're relying just on meds to help with mental illness, especially PTSD or something like that, therapy is almost always needed. I used to be almost against therapy, cause of negative experiences in childhood with therapists. But now I believe in therapy wholeheartedly, especially group therapy. It's helped me beyond anything that the pills could.

Welcome, Jen. I hope you'll find a supportive group of people among this board. We've experienced many of the same things and have a knack for sharing strategies of coping and dealing with various situations.

I'm glad to hear you have a supportive DH. That's the best, isn't it? My DH is awesome and will just ask me what I am feeling, etc. It's a nice feeling.

Anyway, welcome aboard, and I look forward to learning more about you.

Hello Jen, welcome to this message board. I have had anxiety for about a year and a half now.....had my first panic attack April 2004. This board has helped me so much, and like Heather, we all have had ups and downs. But it helps to know we are not alone. Again, welcome and happy thoughts to you. JanW
