Feeling down but going to change
| Mon, 10-03-2005 - 3:18pm |
Hi- i posted earlier about my son having some problems in school and changes in behavior. He is in 9th grade. Now I really feel bad about letting my anxiety and depression affect my parenting- letting him down. Wallowing in my own self pity. but i want to change my behavior to help him- lately I have been yelling alot and end up going to bed early and not deal. He is a good kid- going through some tough times-
Elaine

Elaine,
You are a great mother. Don't put yourself down... i think that we are so much harder on ourselves then we need to be.
Take Care and I hope that you are feeling better!

Your son will be fine- tell him you love him
and this has nothing to do with him!!
Are you having panic attacks? or what?
I hope you feel better soon! Let us know please!
I will pray for you- Judy
Elaine, sometimes going to bed and not dealing is better than staying up and fighting. I am an expert on son troubles, lol. I used to go soak in a hot bath when he had more problems than I could handle. Then we would fight because he felt I was always in the bath tub, go figure! You need to feel better yourself so you will be able to help him better. I think getting extra rest is a good thing. Starting high school is such a major change for children and their parents. Take care of yourself & like Judy said, let him know you love him and that you are there for him if he needs your help.

you were right about high school- it's difficult when you see your kids making the wrong choices- he is still my baby
