I've never taken anything like this before and am still debating if I want to try it.

For me the med didn't work but that is because it turns out I am bipolar and those meds are not good for my dx. When I first went on Lexapro the only side effect I had was some stomach upset for a few days but other than that it was fine.

I think in many cases IF meds are needed then they are best used in conjunction with therapy. Therapy alone is great too. It's a personal decision for all of us.

Goodluck to you

Hello! Nice to see you posting:) I have never taken lexapro but in the past required other AD's. They helped alot in dealing with my panic disorder. There are many other ways of dealing with anxiety. In the *what's new on health* folder @ the bottom of this page, there's

Hi,

I am on lexapro 30mg and have been on it for about 6 months now. I am on it for anxiety disorder.

It made me tired so I take it at night, the 1st few times I took it i felt nauseus but I just took it with food. I did have some stomach pain but it went away in a few days.

Overall I have no complaints at all about it.

Are you on it for anxiety/depression/both?

Take Care and let me know if you have any more questitons...

This is the first time I have been on medication for anxiety, though I have used some in the past for other problems. I take Lexapro and also see a therapist. I've been fortunate and have had no side effects from the Lexapro, but for me I think it is just as important to have someone to talk with.

I'm just wondering other people's thoughts on continuing with behavioral changes vs trying medicine

I just wanted to add that my pdoc said that it can take 4-6 weeks to feel the full increase when you start and after every dose increase. I started at 5mg and now am up to 30.. I will say that I have felt more anxiety after the increase from 10-20mg but overall I am happy with the lexapro and from what I've heard it's one of the best out there right now as far as tolerance and side effects go.
