Do you think that ...

... anxiety during pregnancy is normal and can be attributed to hormones? Or, do you think it is more likely in those with GAD and similar disorders? Of course I'm asking for myself. :) Just wondering what you thought!
Kendra
(I know I could post this on one of the pregnancy boards, but I know you gals much better and prefer to post it here, if you don't mind. :))

Kendra,
I think that its probably and bit of both, mostly pregnancy though.
You are getting closer to your due date and some (Miraculous) life changes are about to occur. Of course it is going to be the most amazing thing to EVER happen to you it is still normal to have anxiety over the unknown.
My tdoc is great at pointing out the I some things are "normal" anxiety.. ex. My Grandmother going in for surgery) that is a normal anxiety that most people would have.
So, when I get anxious I always ask myself if that's a "normal" anxiety.
HTH helps a bit...
Are you doing ok??????
Yeah, so-so. Physically I'm doing just fine--picture perfect. My appointments go really smoothly, and the only thing I must do soon is get my flu shot (preggos are at higher risk now). I'm just a bit overwhelmed and trying to accept the fact that it's not all going to get done. ;)
Thanks for your input, though.
Kendra
Definitely a lot to do with the pregnancy. I was a major b@@@tch when I was pregnant.
Don't worry, sounds like you don't have much longer to go.
Good Luck with the delivery.
Alison
LOL ... thanks. :) I am definitely self-aware of my bitch factor, though, so that is good!! :)
I have shared this before, Kendra. Both of my pregnancies went well. I had the normal anxieties about being a working mom, finding child care, saving up sick time to cover me financially for my maternity leave, etc. However, my panic attacks & the anticipatory anxiety were well under control without meds. I found being pregnant to have a peaceful effect on me. I was like Superman. I was physically able to overcome the
LOL! :) Actually, my dad is coming up for five days, and he's the exception for the first four weeks. :)
I will most certainly share pics when she arrives. Thanks, as always, for your valuable insight. I do feel peaceful at times. Right now I'm doing a couple of things I'd been putting off, and I figured out a way to put on my sneakers so I can go for a walk! It's been way too long. I think I've been indoors way too much.
Hugs,
Kendra :)
Kendra, You are doing so great through this pregnancy.
I know you will be a terrific momma. <3
Sorry I don't have any advice for you, since I have never had a baby, myself,But I agree that your worries are probably a little of both-but probably leaning towards the pregnancy.
I mean, this is a 'life changing experience', and I know I would be anxious too!
You are gonna do PERFECT, Kendra!
You are such a special person, I know what a great mommy you are going to be to Baby Mia :0) She is very lucky to have such a wonderful, loving mommy & daddy, like you and your dh are.
It won't be much longer now til Mia's 'Grand Entrance'!!!
We can't wait here on the board! :0)
You take it easy this last month, and take some special time out for you and hubby, (no work allowed)
I hope you have a peaceful Tuesday.
love you! shasta
P.S. Can you share with us on how you got your sneakers on??? Might need the info, in the future! hee hee! ;0)
Thanks, sweetie. I asked Alex what he thought today about meds, and he said I seemed fine this a.m., just had a "dip." Anyway!
The sneakers ... well, they were already tied. I'm bad--I pull them off of my feet without untying them. So, I stretched them (with my feet) and slid them back on. That's supposed to be bad for the shoes because it stretches them out, but hey, it's an excuse for a new pair eventually. :)
Wish you were here to join me on the walk, even if it's a short one. It's so nice outside!
Thanks for the kudos. I cannot believe it's her birth month already. Twenty-one days till my due date. That's just wild.
Well, have a wonderful Tuesday!
Love,
Kendra
Just jumping in about the sneakers. I only wore slide on shoes during the last months of my pregnancy. I also talked my DH into painting my toenails before going to the hospital because I couldn't reach. LOL
Alison
Hey kido-I get those 'dips' too! I don't like 'em either!! LOL!
And I am as bad as you, I slip my sneakers on and off with the laces tied too! And I don't even have an excuse of being preg., I guess I am just lazy! LOL!
It's nice to know I am not the only one in the world that does this! ;0)
Aw, Kendra, I wished I was there to go for a walk with you too. I wished I had a friend that didn't work, to walk with, and you would be a great walking partner! But I think we would be 'gabbing' more than walking-hee hee!
So we are counting down for baby Mia's arrival! 20 more days until your due date!
Yea!!!!
Have a happy relaxing Wednesday!
love, shasta
