Pdoc Appt Today - Scared

My pdoc put me on lithium 2 weeks ago to see if I might be bi-polar. I have previously been diagnosed as clinically depressed and GAD. The medications for these have either not worked or worked at first and then wore off. I had a blood test earlier in the week and this should tell whether my lithium levels are normal or not and therefore I think can determine if I am bi-polar. I am not sure why I am so nervous. If bi-polar is my dx than I will be happy because I know that I can be treated correctly. I probably should've posted on the bi-polar board, but have visited and posted here and feel more comfortable. My anxiety is through the roof today. I have to wait until 4pm for my appt and I'm feeling sooooo stressed.
Any words of encouragement or experience would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Alison

Alison,
I really don't know much about bipolar or lithium, just what I've heard from Danielle.
I just want to wish you well today and let you know I am thinking of you. Whatever the outcome is you will be OK and get treated accordingly.
Sending you
Remember my computer at home sucks (still waiting for DH to show up with my new laptop. lol). Anyway, thanks for the positive thoughts and I will post in the morning when I get to work where I spend more time on IV boards than I do working.
Thanks for the hug. I needed that.
Alison
I am thinking of you and my prayers are with you too!
love, shasta
Thanks Shasta and everyone. Well the pdoc could not find my test results which means they're okay she says or else she would've called. ??? She says I am definitely depressed. SURPRISE! I've known that for 13 years. Anyway she doubled my lithium dose since it did seem to have an initial positive effect and I was on a very low dose. I hope this helps. Only time will tell.
Thanks for your concern.
Alison
