Awful panic again today!

I had alot of anxiety last night, followed by a couple of big panic attacks. Took a xanax, tossed & turned & finally fell to sleep. Today I woke up in the state of panic, which I haven't done in a very long time :( I feel awful. Of course, it's a full moon again & that really does affect me. Is that odd? I don't even have a calendar hanging in my house, so I don't know when the full moon is due, but whenever this happens, I try to find a "reason" for it & when I ever went to my desk & took out my calendar, I couldn't believe it was a full moon again! Is this "normal"? I feel extrememly off balance, to the point that I am holding onto furniture to get to the bathroom, and dizzy. Keitha & Heather, you helped alot in chat last night, thank-you so much. Ugghh, just thought I'd share with friends :)

You never know about that full moon stuff. I had both my DDs on full moons. The hospital was packed. If it can bring on labor, I bet it could bring on anxiety. ;)

hey Sheri Ann, im sorry you're going through such a hard time :( Is there anything in your life right now that's contributing to this panic? I think you should try some relaxation techniques when the medication doesn't seem to be helping much. Try some deep breathing or even some meditation, those things will help your body relax a little bit from the panic, so you won't feel so shaky anymore. You could also try to do something to keep your mind off the panic like playing tetris or solitaire....those are mind numbing games that will temporarily take your mind off things.

btw, you already know how i feel about the full moon hypothesis :) So i wont go into it again :P However, I dont think it's necessary healthy to attribute your anxiety to external causes like that for therapeutic reasons. It could create a self fulfilling prophecy.

I hope you feel better soon!!! <3

Mia, I was just asking about you last night. Do you go to chat anymore? I hope you're doing well, I know you must be busy with school. Post more often and let us know how you're doing! Yeah, I remember your thoughts on the full moon, but I just couldn't believe it when I looked at the calendar and there was another one!

Jan, thank you for you reply. I did rethink everything all day trying to figure out what the problem is, and I know what it is, but it bothers me that I can't seem to handle ANYTHING outside my norm. It stinks! Everything has to be just so or I shut down!

((((Sheri Ann)))) it was great talking with you last night I miss you when you're not in chat. Sorry to hear the anxiety is up again, I hate that. Sometimes it just feels as if we're all on a roller coaster ride. Moods are up and down anxiety is here and then it's not. Just hang in there girl and before you know it things will be going your way again. If I haven't learnt anything else in my 50some years I have learned that. Take care of yourself and know you're always in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank-you Keitha. I would have had a really bad time had it not been for Heather & you in chat last night! I am so thankful to have such great friends that understand what this is all about.

Yes, I spent most of the day online chatting with friends, and it was actually very therapeutic. Of course, I did zero housework, didn't even take a shower, but that's okay. I'm just glad the panic has passed. Having panic attacks at home is the worst scenario for me, because that is my only "safe" zone. When you are agoraphobic & start being afraid to be home alone, that's worse than bad and that's how I felt today. Not only was I not going outside even, but I was afraid to even be alone. But my online friends got me through it!!

Sheri Ann,

Hope you have found some relief today. I totally miss chat these days from studying and Thursday my dd has Tae Kwon Do testing so I will miss then too. Wish I could have been there for you. You always help me when I am feeling down/anxious.

Yes the full moon is a wild time! It affects the water in the ocean to make tides, imagine what it does to us. We are mostly water ;-).
