Busy, Busy Week :)

The last week has been extremely busy for us. We drove to CT for an emergency custody hearing for our grand daughter & the drive was horrendous for me. We had to stop overnight, I just could barely make it. I finally gave in and took a xanax (why is that so darn hard for me to do?!) and felt immediate relief. I was even able to go to a restaurant across from the hotel & wait in the lobby while dh went in the bar for a beer, being alone is always a fear of mine. I went in CVS alone in NY & did some shopping, with zero anxiety. I even walked around the hotel lobby alone. It proves to me that I CAN do it, with the help of medication. I haven't done any of these things since last January & it felt great. Yesterday we had the closing on a house we just sold, so we had to hurry back, but again I did it. Anxious for about the first 2 hours on the road, then I settled in and enjoyed the ride. We took the scenic route back instead of I-95 and it really was pretty. The leaves are not yet turning colors here in NC so I especially enjoyed the scenery. We went over that long bridge in VA that has the tunnels intermittently, gosh, I can't remember the name of it, anyways we ate dinner on the pier & I went to the gift shop twice alone. These are all firsts for me, last done in January. All in all, everything worked out great on the trip. My mom was admitted to the hospital today, she has developed a blood clot on her lung. She had knee replacement surgery a couple of weeks ago. I'm feeling horrible for not staying in CT longer, I had wanted to stay the weekend, but we were in the process of closing on the one house & had a walk-through on another one today that we are purchasing, so dh really wanted to come back rather than postpone anything. Please keep mom in your prayers. My anxiety seems to be so much lower when I am busy, busy, busy! I guess it's because I don't have time to think about it. I purchased the anxiety & phobia workbook & started reading it. I started with the nutrition chapter, so far it is very interesting. I'll let you know how it goes. It's good to be back :)

WB, Sheri Ann! You've had a full plate. Congrats on handling yourself so well. I have heard of that bridge but don't know the name of it either. Doesn't it go right out into the Chesapeake Bay? If it's the one that I'm thinking of it would be my Waterloo):
Sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep her in my T&P's. (((hugs))) jan
Yes, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, that's it, lol. We ate lunch out on the pier which is somewhere along the bridge, not quite in the middle, Ian loved it!! Tunnels & bridges both scare me, but it was so beautiful that I just concentrated on that instead of my fears.
