Walking through the fear...

I've done a lot of soul searching about why I react to certain situations the way I do. Sometimes it's because I'm not in control. I have this fear of choking yet I don't know CPR/the Heimlich Maneuver. You'd think that would be the easy solution...educate yourself on what to do if the situation arises. I guess out of fear of "knowing too much" I've avoided it because I'd have to get in a practice situation that would emulate the real thing.

In the past few weeks I've decided that I need to change careers at some point. I'm going down a dead end road and need to make a U-turn. I've decided to take EMT training starting in January. It feels empowering to know that I'll be faced with some situations that cause me anxiety and I know I'm going to come through on the other side.

Have you walked through the fear lately?
