I started to put this in another post, but decided it might be better if I make this a post all of it's own. I hope this helps!!
I'm still not driving/going very many places by myself, but I figure it will come in time. It's taken me a long time to get back to where I am now, so I'm thankful for that. It's hard work, but it's well worth it. For those of you with problems driving, keep trying!! Do it however it's most comfortable for you!! It may not make any sense to anyone else, but that doesn't matter, YOU DO IT YOUR WAY!! Push a little when you're feeling particularly brave, but don't dwell on it or beat yourself up if you don't accomplish everything you set out to do. Pat yourself on the back for all you did do.
Most of the time now I can drive where ever I need to if someone is riding with me. I feel a little more reassured if I have someone that could drive if I had a problem. I still feel anxiety while driving, but I do things any way. The driving that I do do by myself is very short trips, ie. taking Noah back and forth to school, picking a couple of things up from the grocery, picking up meds at the pharmacy... (all of these places are with in 4 miles of my house). It may not seem like much, but this time 2 years ago I wasn't doing any of it. I'd still rather be "normal", but I'm glad that I have regained at least a little of my independence.
Trust me, if I can do this, anyone can!!!
