Ok i been tested and tested for all kinds of stuff since i was dizzy for 7 month and on my couch most of the time... i finally got of some of the meds that was causing this...
i had the catscan/ENG/Mri EKG and several other tests done and they all came back almost perfect
so my neurologist suggested lexapro well that didnt go over well with me at all...
i felt like my chest had a fire inside of it...and same with my Head i was on FIRE!!
my Bloodpressure shot up close to 200 over 101
My Neurologist said dont take anymore.. DUH!
So my regular doctor put me on Zoloft and i started last Night... it was 10 pm and i warned my son that i was about to start a new medication..well i thought it would put me
to sleep but it did the opposite...
no side affects except i was wired for a while....
once this kicks in MAYBE this will be the meds to get me back behind the wheel and grocery shopping... I cant wait....

Well my anxiety/phobia is with driving and going to stores... it just happened this year and has disabled me of doing regular things like grocery shopping and paying bills...
i was overmedicated and out with serious dizzy spells for 7 month and noone knew what was wrong with me..they did so many tests that now im 2 the point if this dont work then oh well i will try something else....i so miss doing things on my own..i feel safest at home but being home and not being able to drive or really go anywhere alone has taken a toll
on my weight wich was already up since im diabetic on insulin since february this year...
so i gotta have a positive outlook or i'll go nuts..

Good luck to you with the zoloft. My mom & 2 of her friends have taken it @ bedtime to help them sleep. After the first few nights, let's be optimistic that it will do the same for you. A positive attitude is never a bad thing. We all need a good dose of that. So many of us are facing anxiety & depression this time of year.

I didn't drive for 3 years due to my fears. I got much like you in that I was so sick & tired of my limitations. I started by driving just to the end of the street. Then, each day I drove further & further. It was very scary. I know now that I can look the fear in the face & work my way out of it's grip. Once you get the forward momentum, you will feel the same. You can & will get your old life back. Focus on the positives in your life. That your test results were perfect. When the doubts creep in, remind yourself that you are just fine. It's nice to have an update. Please don't be a stranger & post anytime. We care about you. Sending PT's your way! (((hugs))) jan

I really hope that the new meds work for you. It can be so frustrating to go through different ones until you find something that works.

Yes you are so right and so far this Zoloft hasnt given me any side affects other then what i already experienced before i took it... slightly elevated Blood Pressure and feeling a little "off" balance
but if this Zoloft works then i will stick with it... i have a goal..to drive and go back to my regular routine Life...

That's a reasonable and realistic goal - you'll get there!

It's amazing that we all have the same fears. Driving, shopping, doctors, dentists. Anxiety stinks, doesn't it?! I hope you find relief with the zoloft and go back to driving & shopping. Keep us posted! It's always great to hear about the progress of others.

That's great that you got out! Pat yourself on the back. Rome wasn't built in a day, so 1 hour away from home is a big step! Congrats!

I don't know what it is about the lighting in those big stores, but the same thing happens to me in Walmart. I *think* which is probably more imagination than anything else, that I can hear the lights or maybe feel something running. Perhaps the heating/cooling system. It makes me think that I'm shaking inside. I have to really push myself to stay in the store, always thinking positively & belly breathing as I do my shopping. Wierd as it may sound, I focus on the other shoppers. I smile & sometimes converse with them. Anything to keep me busy & stop dwelling on the thoughts. You are NOT alone. Wishing you continued success! (((hugs))) jan
