Ok i been tested and tested for all kinds of stuff since i was dizzy for 7 month and on my couch most of the time... i finally got of some of the meds that was causing this...
i had the catscan/ENG/Mri EKG and several other tests done and they all came back almost perfect
so my neurologist suggested lexapro well that didnt go over well with me at all...
i felt like my chest had a fire inside of it...and same with my Head i was on FIRE!!
my Bloodpressure shot up close to 200 over 101
My Neurologist said dont take anymore.. DUH!
So my regular doctor put me on Zoloft and i started last Night... it was 10 pm and i warned my son that i was about to start a new medication..well i thought it would put me
to sleep but it did the opposite...
no side affects except i was wired for a while....
once this kicks in MAYBE this will be the meds to get me back behind the wheel and grocery shopping... I cant wait....

I so relate to what you said about the lights at the grocery store - what is it? Something about the type of fluorescents they use just grates on me. Plus, I live near a neighborhood with a lot of immigrants and shop at a grocery store where many north Africans shop. I mean this in no disrespectful way at all but most of these women and their children have a very different idea of personal space (Americans like the most personal space of anyone in the world according to studies) and it is impossible to stand in line without kids bumping up against me as they run around the store. Needless to say, I have to be feeling strong to even go shopping. Here in Chicago, we have Peapod where you can do all of your shopping online and they deliver but it can be realy expensive so I try not to do it too often.

Must be some truth to the Lights then if it messes us up like that...
i was at a food lion about a month ago and their lighting was just fine matter of fact i spend way to much money in that store, but when you only are up to shopping like every two month or so it feels good to spend ...
Plus i noticed that i buy more now since i know im not able to drive and get whatever i want when i want it... My Son and Husband both hope that this Zoloft will work for me and put me back behind the wheel cause they HATE grocery shopping...My son will say:"Mom they didnt have that" and then when i send my Husband he'll say... Hey they had that in the store ...but my Son just didnt bother looking for it...
So im praying that Zoloft will do the trick for me...
How long did it take some of you to be able to drive again? i havent driven in 8 month now

I didn't get in the car for 3 years): Most of the anxiety I had was anticipatory in nature. Always worrying about what might happen. The real panic attacks were few & far between. I just got so sick of not going anywhere & telling my kids, *no, I can't take you.* I hated myself so much for disappointing them. Now, when I have so much trouble with my 18 yo dd, she throws that up into my face & it hurts so bad. Honestly, would anyone want to live such a limited life, if it was possible to change it? I hope someday she'll see the light. I hope that deep down inside she's her mother's dd & she'll learn not to pass judgement on others & be more accepting & tolerant. Oh well, I digress:)

Anyway, I decided elke-eason, that I would drive again come hell or high water. I did sit in the car a few days, but then took off just to the stop sign & back. I would push myself to go increasing distances from home. I would push till I felt uncomfortable, but never to a panic state. Like Sheri Ann has shared with us, it's exhiliarating. Almost like when you first learned to drive. I belly breathed & positive thought my way through many of my new driving adventures. It was great to be able to get my own groceries! How well I know what it's like to depend on others. Once I sent my dad for lemon juice & he returned with a can of frozen lemonade. Typical man. ROFLMBO Little frustrations like that were enough to keep me motivated & light a fire under my butt! I would occasionally have trouble on bridges or the interstate, but each time I made it through, I would file that under *I did it* & pull that file out to remind me that it was possible when I needed too. The best 2 things I learned is to forgive yourself for an illness you have no control over. Love yourself for who you are because anxiety is nothing compared to all your good qualities. & like the old song says, *you can't take that away from me.*

Good luck! (((hugs))) jan

I switched to zoloft in September. I hope it works a well for you as it is for me. I've definately noticed a difference. It took about a month before I really noticed a difference. I'm on 75mg right now, and I feel much better. I've been able to get out more comfortably lately, and I haven't had to take my ativan in about 2 weeks. YIPPEE!!

Have a great day!! Keep up posted. Chrystal

Which meds were causing your dizziness? I have been feeling that way for several days now and think it might be an inner ear infection but I am also on lithium and celexa. Just wondering if it was either of those.

Also, I had positive results with zoloft. Hope it works for you.

i was dizzy for 7 month but i think mine came from being overmedicated by an "army" doctor they had me on way 2 much Insulin and glucotrol xl
plus my bloodpressure was messing me up it was way up.. I had earpain like crazy and thats why i had all these tests done but they all came back ok
the earpain in my case is from needing some dentures (missing teeth)
i never knew that could affect your ears...
