I've heard alot of people saying their anxiety is especially high right now because of the Holidays. There are also a lot of new posters, which is great :) I'm thankful my stress level hasn't been up! I did all my shopping online & it went very smoothly. No crowds, no traffic, no lines, no taxes, lol! Please share what is working for you, I'm sure we will all benefit from your posts. I love Christmas, it is my favorite Holiday. I get caught up in the fun & decorating, the cookies & hot cocoa, the parades, santa & the reason we celebrate. I am looking forward to our live nativity this weekend. Here in NC, the town sponsors it on the town green, which is pretty amazing since I'm seeing other places ban the use of the word CHRISTmas. Here it is everywhere and often sponsored by the recreation dept or another town office. I hope it stays like that, here in my little hometown!

Uh...not well. I actually love this time of year, so my anxiety is not triggered by the holidays. This has just been a very bad week because of life in general and I don't have another shrinkwrap session until December 29. I'm so used to the weekly sessions that I get jittery if I have to skip a week. Now I'm having to skip two weeks.
I had a very very bad panic attack on Tuesday, and I'm still feeling drained from that. And it's just really bad timing that our bigwig office Christmas party is this afternoon (200+ people from several departments). I'm very stressed about that. I don't do well at those things on a good day, much less when I've had a bad week like this.

Is your attendance at the Christmas party mandatory?
Sheri Ann
Hey, Sheri. I had to put in an appearance at the party, so I stayed for an hour and then slipped out. And then when I got home I went straight to bed at 6 p.m. I wasn't even all that sleepy, but I think I just needed some "cocoon" time if that makes any sense. When I get too stressed out, I sleep. It's my way of dealing with stuff.

It makes perfect sense to me!
