how long before seeing results?

to recap, i was put on atenolol in oct. that month was fine - no shakiness or increased heart beat. but mid nov, i kind of went back to how it was before, but not as bad as without the med. so when i was at my follow-up, my dr increased the dosage. he believed the med works but there's still

As you know, Kimberly, the atenolol works much differently than the meds commonly used for anxiety. In fact, there's some people who take the beta blockers, which atenolol is part of the family, just prior to talking in front of a group or performing in front of others. It is not a tranquilizer or an antidepressant. It works
I think only you can answer that, you know how you are feeling better than anyone. You could always make a phone call and ask the nurse. It wouldn't hurt. I always say wait a couple of weeks, especially this time of the year since it is more stressful for most people around the Holidays. Let us know how you do!

I posted before reading Jan's post & I have to totally agree with what she said. I took Inderal for almost 14 years & I remember the doc telling me it was used for stage fright. When I took it, it calmed me quickly. My pdoc said I probably had anxiety back then (I was 14) since the doc prescribed the Inderal. I didn't know what my diagnosis was, didn't even ask at that age!

my anxiety is kind of confusing to me and i told that to the dr. i explained how it started with having to sign for things, and then recently (within this past year), how it would come when i talk to people (ex. salesmen, people on the phone....its always someone
