I did it!

I have posted a few times about my extreme fear of pills or taking medicine. I somehow managed to take my zoloft tonight. I cried and my husband had to hold me for 15 minutes before I could do it but I managed to force myself. I have been trying to take an anti-depressant for close to 2 months now so I feel like I have made a big step. I am still freaked out and anxious about the side effects but I am just going to try and see what happens.

Whoo Hoo! Candie! That is so wonderful!
Way to go!!! I know first hand, how scary it is to take any new kind of medication, I hope the Zoloft helps you, as it has me. I feel like my personality is a lot more 'upbeat' and 'sunnier' :0) I wish you the same luck <3
Please keep us posted, and thanx so much for sharing!
hugs!

WAY TO GO!

You have passed the initial fear by staring it right in the face! Each time you take the pill, you will have that experience to draw on. A reminder that you are fine. That you will continue to be fine. I am confident that you will continue without incident. Good luck, Candie! (((hugs))) jan

Thanks ladies for your encouragement. The only real side effect I have had so far is that I didn't sleep a wink last night. I am super tired now. I am wondering if this is just a normal side effect and I will get back to sleeping soon. I am not allowing myself to go to webmd because if I read the side effects I will freak out. My doctor told me I might have a few side effects the first week but she didn't mention not being able to sleep.

Candie -

That is absolutely wonderful that you were able to take your Zoloft today! Way to go!!! This is a huge step in recovery and I sure hope that the Zoloft works well for you. I'm on Zoloft too. And yes I had side effects but I got through them and if you get any side effects, you'll get through them too. The end result is well worth it. and I think you proved something big to yourself this evening!!!! Be proud of yourself! You are a strong person and you can do this! :)
