I, personally, think it is better for relationships to start out as friendships if they are to survive.

I don't want to be around her at all. I would rather all 3 of us sit there and watch the movie (then I wouldn't have to talk much) then go home instead of going to a restaurant and try to

One thing in your post kind of struck me because I can completely relate to it. The drinking. It is one of the worst things that you can do when you have panic disorder - a major trigger. I am soooo not lecturing you because 90% of the panic attacks that I have had in the past 3 years were the day after I got wasted, so I totally understand. Now I have a 2 drink limit and I will only drink when I am with close friends that I really trust.

I agree with Sheri that seeming clingy will drive a man away faster than almost anything else. Frankly, I understand that. If a man seems clingy to me, I bail too. I also agree that he would likely not invite you along if there were something going on with this neighbor of yours. I know that it is difficult not to obsess about things like this, but you really need to find something that you enjoy to distract yourself. It is going to be very difficult for you to be content as long as your happiness is wrapped up in a man.
