I have a lump on my neck!!!!

Doesn't it just figure!!!!

I kinda remember waking up to a weird sensation on the right side of my neck last night. It kinda felt like muscles twitching or spasming. I barely remember this. After I woke up this morning I discovered a small swollen lump on that side of my neck. My neck is kinda hurting today too. Of course being a hypochondriac I started crying and feeling all scared. I was thinking about an episode of Extreme Home Makeover where the mom woke up with a painful lump on her neck and it turned out to be some rare form of stage 4 cancer!!!!

I went to my counseling today and she helped me with it. She reminded me that I just had a respiratory infection and was on antibiotics last week for that and sometimes the glands in our neck can become swollen when or just after being sick. I hope she is right.

I have my doctor app't tomorrow to address the pins and needles feeling in my feet. I am going to have her look at the lump too. In the meantime I'm just trying to stay calm.

You're doing all the right things. Having the lump checked & getting to the bottom of the pins & needles in your feet. Don't let it get ahead of you. We can make a mountain out of a molehill in our minds. Remember to breathe. Have a cup of chamomile tea &

Jennifer, you are going to drive yourself crazy!! Sounds like swollen lymph nodes, I've had them & thought I had cancer, too.

Yes, I am driving myself crazy. And I think that is what upset me more than anything when I found that lump this morning. I was crying and said to dh, "Not something new!!! I can't do this anymore!!!!" Meaning I can't handle this anxiety and worrying about health issues that arise. It seems that as of lately I've had too many weird things come up that cause me panic.

Hopefully it is nothing but a swollen lymph node from the infection I had last week. I'm still coughing quite a bit so I might still have a bit of it in me yet.

Try not to drive yourself too nuts. I had bronchitis for a month and a half recently and also had swollen glands from it. It will most likely be nothing but get it checked to ease your mind.

Hello! - New to the board, but can totally relate to this kind of anxiety. Your post is something I would think over and over in my head. Hope you are going better as the day goes on.

I too had a situation with tingling in my legs, arm, feet etc - and was convinced it was something horrible! And Dr's do not help with all their tests and the waiting. It ended up being a slight bulge in a disk in my back...probably caused by anxiety/stress of tightening muscles and such. A few months at the chirporactor and it was all gone!

Good luck with everyhing - sure it will be fine.
