Ok - well, I have not been to see a psychiatrist for years and my internal medicine doctor has been prescribing my Paxil. After my last panic attack, I decided that I need to see a specialist so I found a woman who specializes in panic disorder as well as women's mental health who is also in my health plan. I saw her this morning and I have to say that I was not blown away, though I like her better than the lat psychiatrist I saw. I did get a prescription for Xanax in case I have another attack. With all of the travel that I have coming up, I worry about the stress. She said that I could try Klonopin too but that it does not work as quickly as the Xanax. After talking with her, we decided to stay at the 10mg of Paxil for the moment with the possibility of upping that. She mentioned Effexor too but I have generally had a good result with the Paxil and want to stick with it.
