Can you please help me???? Have any of you done this and should I tapper???? I am more afraid of withdrawls.. I don't think I can handle them at this time.

Hi Wendy :)
You know, I would call your doctor and express you concern before you do anything.

Hi Wendy,
I'd talk to your dr. I know that every med is different but I've never just been taken off of one. When I went off of lexapro I was weaned slowly over the course of 2 weeks. Call your dr.

Hugs & Positive Thoughts Always,
Thank you all for your thoughts on the switch, I am going to call the dr today and see what he has to say. The wellbutrin is doing well for my attitude, and perking me up, so I am hesitant to stop it for I don't want to lose the pep I now have, but it really is making my anxiety worse... So sad that it can't help with the anxiety to.. I am afraid of the lexapro causeing me to be to laid back-sleepy.. I do not need that- I sleep very well right now.
Have any of you taking lexapro had any issues with wieght gain?? I have read that it doesnt make you gain weight, but I have read also people have gained and say that the study about weight gain with lexapro is just wrong...
I don't need the extra pounds, I have enough of them already! LOL
Whats the likely-hood that perhaps I could stay on Wellbutrin for the peppiness, add the lexapro for the anxiety control, and continue the klonopin to... any of you heard of this... LOL I know your not drs but I don't want to ask a question I know nothing about. I usually like to have done some sort of research before addressing an issue/question.
Thank so much guys.. I know that I don't really post often, but know that I am here daily reading and getting so much support and inspiration from all of you not to mention the amount of knowledge.. Thank you so much.
Wendy
Hi Wendy,
I am surprised your doctor would want you to go cold turkey. It is best to ween yourself off slowly to minimize your withdrawl symptoms. You should try to cut your dose in half for a few days, and then cut it down again. Maybe ask if you could try that. Also, if you go cold turkey, it could take days to get out of your system. You might experience lightheadedness, nausia and even migraine headaches. I am not trying to scare you, but only to let you know that it probably is not smart.
As far as the lexapro, I am on 20mg and it helps me, but not enough. For most people, it is amazing. THe side effects are relativly low, and it is well tolerated. I didn't experience weight gain, but i do have trouble crying. I feel like crying, but the drug blocks it. It's very strange.
Best of luck to you, and please talk to your doctor about not going cold turkey. I really am not trying to scare you, only trying to help.
Good luck. JD
