The nights were the worst for me in the begining.. however I could never get to sleep. I talked to my dr and he said that my brain was running a million miles and it continued into bedtime. I begain taking klonopin at night and I tell you I sleep like a baby... Also before the meds.. (before I agreeded to take some thing that "might kill me" my anxety talking) My dr said that something as simple as benadryl would help and it did...

Talk to your dr.. there is no reason to go through this. I let it go on forever and I wish I hadnt. Please take care and try to get some sleep!!!

(((Jeanie))) I am sorry to hear this. The person who invents a button to shut off our racing thoughts will become a billionaire! LOL

Here are a few things that I have tried. No caffeine or nicotine. No upsets like heavy exercise, arguments, scary or exciting tv shows. I usually read or listen to relaxing music. Follow a routine, just like your kids. Have a time schedule

I can totally sympathize with you. I have extreme insomina due to anxiety at night. Even the thought of going to bed starts to put me into a panic. Its a terrible spiral. My mind is on overdrive at night. I hope you find some relief soon I know how hard it is. Have you tried using a sound machine? I have one in my room it plays like ocean sounds, or a summer night sounds etc and I have found it helps. I didn't realize that I was sound senstive before. I will listen to the ocean sounds and imagine myself at the ocean that seems to help me relax and get to sleep sometimes. It doesn't need to be very loud so that you can listen for your little ones. Just a little background noise like a fan can be helpful too. Any way just thought I would throw that suggestion out there.
