There are probably support groups in the area I live in, since it's so large. However, you are right about the childcare. Have no friends to watch them!! LOl! :) What a catch huh?
Anyway, thank you all so much for replying. I am already taking Prozac, and that has helped with my depression quite a bit, but I'm not at a theraputic dose for OCD. I guess the reason for my post was to find out if there is any hope of overcoming social phobia, if I'll ever be able to find a close friend. My mom has similar problems is now 42, and in all my 24 years I've never seen her have 1 real, good, close friend. Or any friends at that. So, I know all is not worked out with time. I want to do the work required, I'm tired of being lonely. I just don't know what "work" that is. What does it mean? What do I have to do? Other than being Brave and pushing myself out of my comfort bubble, I don't know what to do. Is that it? Is that all it will take?
Are there any books any of you have found helpful. Have any of you reached a point where you're ok with social phobia and/or OCD? Or am I doomed for isolation?
TIA
Christina

We do have to work on these things. The chances are pretty slim that someone will just
Hi Christina, there have been several people in this group that have mentioned they want to make friends, moved, etc...

I am impressed Sheri, moving 800 miles to a new area and able to go out and mingle and meet people.
