Hi there everyone!
I have not been around for awhile and don't have the time to go through all of the posts that I have missed. I was in DC for awhile for work and then I had my oral surgery. I took a Xanax a half hour before the procedure so I did really well.
The recovery was more painful than I had thought it would be and I did nothing for 4 days but lie around watching movies and taking Vicodin. But I am really proud of myself overall. I used a nictone patch and did not smoke for an entire week! And I did not have one attack! I did, however, cry for a couple of hours one day - but that's only natural after a shock to the body and all. Especially since I live alone. My mom came home with me and took care of me the day of the surgery but then I was completely alone for the next 4 days until I was well enough to go into work. At times like that, I feel really lonely too. Friends offered to come over but I was in no position for that and it really made me wish that I had a significant other.
Anywho how is everyon? Heather, how are the boys? Sheriann, what's been going on with your medical stuff? What's new Janis? How is everyone else?
Thanks!
Jules

All is well here.

WB! You were missed! I have to say that was impressive with the dental surgery. You faced it confidently & recovered well. Always good to have an inspirational message to all of us in the community.
I am doing *ok.* Thanks for asking. Anxiety seems to wax & wane with the stressors in life. Some just can't be avoided. I try to ride them out.
We have a new folder, *Uplifting Each Other.* We're focusing on the iVillage 20 minutes a day Community Diet Challenge in our WWU. Sheri Ann's trying to get a book chat up & running. If you're a reader, add to the book thread any finds you'd like to share & give Sheri Ann any self help titles you have found worthy! Wishing you continued success & hope to see you around more often. (((hugs))) jan
I have had 5 root canals - so I can totally relate. The only reason I finally got these teeth removed was because the impacted one broke. I knew that they were going to have to remove some of the jaw bone when I got it out do I just kept putting it off until I was eating a granola bar and the danged think just broke into a bunch of pieces.
We really can be our own worst enemies! Wish I could make chat - I'd have ot use my home computer which is ancient and has a dial-up connection.
A book chat is a great idea! I have been on Weight Watchers since June and have lost 28 pounds (I lost 30 but gained two back after the surgery - living on pudding, ice cream, and baked potatoes smothered in butter) and I have really gotten into working out. I think that the community diet challenge is a great idea.
My anxiety waxes and wanes too - I know what you mean. I am doing realy well now but worry about the coming months. I have to travel a wekk each month for work and head up teams of people. At the end of each week, I will be conducting a meeting which will include an undersecretary of the Department of Labor. It's all a bit stressful, but I am taking the attitude that it is just all going to be OK. A good attitude does seem to help, though real stress can poke holes in the best attitude.
