I am so sorry Jennifer,

My opinion is that if going to the Dr is going to make you feel better then do it. Thats what they are there for..

I used to have all those pains but as time went in they were less and less. I still do get chest pain but I know now that it is only anxiety and I just continue on with what I was doing..

If you need to chat let me know. I have to bring the Boys to the Dr later but other then that I will be here....

Hugs,

Hi Jennifer, its been my dealing that with any type of inflamation it takes along time to get it under control. I have been on Naprosyn every since Oct for an inflamation problem I have in my leg. I can still see the redness. Supposidly my fat cells are fighting one another and causing this inflamation. I had a very painful biopsy, I might add and this is what the test came back saying. If it

I have felt exactly the same, Jennifer. Should I go to the dr. with another unfounded complaint? Or, should I tough it out? Sadly, I only tend to obssess over the ache/pain/another symptom even more. You have been worried about this chest pain for some time. Maybe it would help to see the dr. & get some reassurance so you can move forward. My dr. knows about my anxiety. I wouldn't say he patronizes me or coddles me in any way. Just sort of firmly & matter-of-factly tells me that I am fine & sends me on my merry way. Honestly, for me, it's the only way to get re-focused & my balance back. Good luck. (((hugs))) jan

Jennifer I had the flu this year and I was coughing
and coughing with it. I have pain in my chest and
had an xray which was fine--- it is my chest wall
muscle from coughing that hurts---- I did go to the
doctor.
You are doing very well as far as recognizing when you do
NOT need to go to the ER or doctor! And that is good!!
When you have snxiety it is difficult to ignore those aches
and pains with time you learn when something stays too long
you get it checked out!!
Take care!! Hugs! Judy

Hi Jennifer,

I, too, get shooting pains right under my left breast. I went to get a stress test and a chest x-ray and everything was fine. I could be sitting watching tv, and all of a sudden this shooting pain would happen out of no where. It's awful. It went away for a long time, and now I feel it through my shoulder. It takes my breath away.

I started to do more yoga and pilaties, and I find that the deep breathing helps. The doctors said to stop drinking coffee and cut out all caffine. (chocolate, coffee, soda, etc.) The more I exercise, the less i notice it. When I am completely stressed out (which is most of the time!) I notice it more.

You are not crazy, and I know your pain is real. Hopefully, some of these suggestions help, and try to take some time just for yourself and breathe! (wouldn't it be nice if we could all take our own advice???)

Lots of luck to you, and feel better.

Love, Jolie

Hi Jennifer,

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I get chest pains occasionally when I am upset and sometimes the Dr. says that you can get gas pains under your chest. Did you ever get an Echocardiogram? This would rule out alot of your worries and it would let you know if you have mitral valve prolapse. A lot of people that have anxiety have undiagnosed MVP, I am not a Dr. but I think that it lets alittle bit of air leak with the valve or something like that and it causes similar sensations like the panicky feelings we can get. Please get the Lucinda Bassett Book "Panic to Power" and the Claire Weekes Books "Peace from Nervous Suffering" and "Hope and Help for your nerves" It helps you deal with body sensations and lets you know that you are not alone. You should not discount chest pains if it is cause to be alarmed. I think the echo would eleviate your fears and you could trust that it is muscle pain or gas. That was a big one when I was getting over my anxieties..not to say that I do not have glimmers that remain but I would think "What if everyone thinks it is anxiety and they do not diagnose me! or How do I trust this or that? I get phsyicals and I trust my Dr. I tell him when I need a test....now Dr. would you really want to be help responsible if you miss diagnosis me. He laughs and gives me a catscan or MRI to shut me up. I rememberd my neck was killing me two years ago and he was like I will send you to Physical Therapy. So offcouse I told him What if I have a tumor wrapped around my neck. He sent me for the catscan and we both felt better.:)

Limit your caffeine intake and if you are coughing and or breathing too hard (hyperventilating) that will cause the gas pains that I would get alot of when stressed.

Feel Better,

Paula
