It could be many things, Mia. Depending on where you are in your cycle, it could be hormonal changes. Might be a touch of an intestinal bug getting started. I agree with Sheri Ann, that UTI's usually present with burning on urination, but not always. Do you have a fever? Chills? Is the pain severe? Is it interfering with your regular activities? Do you have any nausea? Bleeding vaginally or in your urine? Vaginal discharge that isn't normal for you?

Hi Mia-
I'm just getting over a UTI and they are really quite benign if you get them treated. You need to go the doctor, do a simple urine test and they will give you antibiotics for 3-10 days. UTI's are not contagious and once you start taking the antibiotics, you'll feel better very quickly. I worry about a lot of things, but I know UTI's are definitely under my control! Good luck.

Mia,

I'm not a nurse but I have been asked by two different ER doctors if I am one because of all of my knowledge gained solely by personal experience. lol

I totally understand where you are coming from. A while ago I had blood in my urine and boy that freaked me out! I also had to urinate often, and I started to have pelvic cramps (which I think can sometimes be caused by the tension from stressing out) I tried my best not to panic, but it can be a struggle. In the end it wasn't serious, I talked to blue cross over the phone and they said to go to the doctor if it didn't correct itself in a few days which it did.

I prayed, tried to calm myself, and drank plenty of cranberry juice.. and that's all I needed. Even if you DID need to get some treatment for something, don't stress.. Its not worth it.

Mia,

Sounds like everyone gave you some good advice. I did a project for school about the power of the Cranberry. It is a scientific fact that drinking cranberry juice prevents bacterial adhesion in the bladder which helps prevent UTI's. (This research was done at the University of Wisconsin) It also can help prevent tooth decay and heart disease.

LOL...bet you all weren't expecting a science lesson today!

Hope you are feeling better Mia!!

Take care,
Lisa
