Hi Jennifer,

I would have the test done for sure.

If your Dr. is offering to send you for it then go for it!!! I know that it would make me feel so much better!

Hugs and Prayers!

Jennifer,

I do the same thing! I always think I am having a heart attack. Then I get myself anxious about it, and it gets worse. I have been having bad indigestion, which I think that is what it is, but i have never felt it like this, a pain right in the middle under where your bra strap would be. I think it is indigestion because it seems to come after i eat or drink water. ANyway-- I am convinced it is a heart attack, because then I get a pain in my arm- which is probaby from holding my baby but... I still fixate on it!

I did go to the doctor for it last year, and he sent me for an echo which at first I didnt do because I was afraid they would find something. Everything else was good, just like you, so I didnt go. Then it continued so I decided I would go for the echo. It was nothing. It took about 25 minutes, and they did it like a sonogram. Except for laying in an uncomfortable position for a little while it was painless! Mine came back normal, as I am sure yours will too. It did ease my mind for awhile, so now Im thinking of actually going for another one.

I say go for it,it will help you to relax some!

good luck!

I think I had that test. They gave me a shot in my arm & watched my heart on the scanner, whilst running the EKG machine. The shot was some kind of medicine that opened up my veins, so it could tell how much stress my heart could take. I was scared. I told the doctor I was scared and he gave me a pill to relax. I was still scared. It couldn't end soon enough. They said my heart was normal. But, I still have fast beats. I can't catch my breath and get scared I will die of a heart attack. Maybe I should have another test. What is that echo? Should I see another doctor? Can anyone help?

You can never take chances with your heart. Have the test and then you can be sure your heart is ok. Perhaps that would help alleviate some anxiety too.

Hi and welcome to the community. I also think I am having a heart attack when my anxiety kicks in. I get the tightness in the chest and my arm aches. I had the EKG, xray, wore a heart monitor for a day and they tell me it's all good. My cholesterol is good, my bp is good......but I still fear the heart attack. I keep telling myself that I had the tests, then I read an article about symptoms of a heart attack and then I think well, maybe they were wrong. So then I take a xanax and see if it gets better, it does and so we wait for the next time. But if you will feel better, go for it, unless like someone said it's a financial hardship. My tests ended up costing me over $500 because of our deductible and a trip to the ER. Take care. JanW
