My worker's comp insurance has decided that they aren't willing to pay for lexapro, which really ticks me off as they will pay for Wellbutrin XR & have paid for xanax for over a year now.

Sheri Ann do they have any samples that are of a higher dose that you could break down into the dose you're willing to take? Also as dumb as it sounds will the insurance pay for a higher dose? When Mel was on it insurance wouldn't pay for anything less then the 20 mg. they just told her to break it in half. Just a suggestion.

Sheriann THIS IS AWFUL!!! They don't want you to use
Xanax it is addicting and dangerous etc etc!! however your insurance
will not give you Lexapro I find that amazing!!
How frustrated you must be! I hope that Keitha's idea works for you!
Hugs!! Judy

Keitha makes a valid point. Maybe they don't think the low dose is therapeutic. Can you get this worked out @ the meeting? Let us know how things go. IMHO, the lexapro will give you a better shot @ overcoming the agoraphobia. I know the SSRI's worked for me when I was so afraid to leave home. Good luck! Always thinking of you. (((hugs))) jan

Insurance companies suck. They are hardly ever in your best interest.

Sheri Ann Jennifer is right about Celexa that's what they gave me in the hospital and they told me it was almost identicial to Lexapro. I didn't notice any differance and had no problem going back onto the Lexapro.
