Hi everyone.
Ive never been to this board before but i was hoping to seek some input on something.
I periodically will get this feeling out of the blue where im dizzy and i get the hot flashes and i have to lay down and close my eyes. I have a very hard time breathing at the same time and my heart beats but not really fast. I cant really remember if my heart is rapidly beating at the time it happens.
Recently i was visiting at my fathers house and one of the rooms has a low clearance. Well the ceiling fan in the room i was in was on and i raised my hand my accident and hit my finger/nuckle on the blade ( Yea OUCH is right ). The finger survived slightly bruised but i immediately felt a pain ( of course ) in the finger area but i got so sick and light headed and sweaty, dizzy the whole 9 just like i have in the past.
Could this be a panic attack? Verdigo? It happens maybe 2-3 times a year. I had it happen back in 2003 when i was standing in the hall with my relatives talking and it hit me, no trama to my body either like this past time.
I told my doctor about it before he said that it could be panic attacks or verdigo but i dont think he was all into listenting to me.
Its almost like an embalance of something, something doesnt feel right. Its the worse feeling especialy when you feel like you cant breath well at all. Thats what if feels like.
Thanks for listening.

ITA with Sheri Ann. Until a doctor can give you a thorough check up, it wouldn't be wise to diagnose your self. As for the incident with the ceiling fan & I must say *ouch* too when I read that! It isn't unusual to have those sorts of symptoms when we're hurt & a little scared. We need to get our bearings & assess the damage & usually it passes pretty quickly. I have had a few kidney stones in my life & the pain made me shaky, dizzy & sick @ my stomach. There's a post in the *coping tips & tricks* folder on belly breathing. It's very helpful to learn it when that breathless feeling strikes.
We care about you & want you to feel better. Keep in touch. Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
I have never had vertigo so I cannot say because of lack of experience. However some of the symptoms you described are what I would have had during a panic attack. But I am in total agreement that you need to see someone to diagnose this properly. Don't rely on a lay person's opinion, get a proper dx.
