I had depression since I was young but the anxiety started in my early 20's when I was a young single mom trying to make ends meet and dealing with the aftermath of an abusive childhood.

I've always been what my parents referred to as a "worrier," but I had my first full-blown panic attack when I was in college. Then nothing for a few years until they flared up in 2003 and then again in 2005.

I never identified it as such, but now I can remember constantly going to the nurse's office with headaaches and nausea, so I'm guessing that I was having anxiety issues all along.

I think I had a couple panic attacks in my early twenties, though they may have been hypoglycemia, too. Full-on panic attacks started just a few months ago, age 29.

I recall anxious moments in first & second grade. One of them was feeling compelled to count things. I would get very frustrated if my counting was interrupted. I had set routines that brought me alot of comfort. People tell me that I was a *nervous* child:) I'm not sure what that means, but I wonder if it had been identified early on if treatment would have helped me. My first full blown PA was @ 17. jan
