New here with panic attacks, stomach ...

issues and a feel of a stress hormone washing over my body. (The same feeling you might get if you lost your child in the grocery store). It all started 3 years ago after weaning my son. I have been on lexapro which takes it all away but I have terrible side effects on lexapro. I recently switched to zoloft and had the worst insomnia for 3 weeks and then the panic attacks came out of no where again. There is nothing that triggers them. I can be home, at a friends house, etc.. When I am in the panic mode I have to use the bathroom and then I get horrible flushing, bathroom, flushing, crying.... It is awful. I have been to see 3 psychologists, 10 doctors, 2 psychiatrists, and they don't know what to say. I do yoga, aerobic exercise and walk too. Read lots of books and tried Kava and vitamins etc.. My blood work is great, although I am low on progesterone which I have been taking for a year. I am back on lexapro again and now have the bad side effects from that, but it is better than the panic. I am really frustrated because I can't find a reason for this. I want to feel normal again like most of my friends, family. Thanks for listening. It seems no one truly understands unless they've been through it.

Hi Lynn, thanks for the ecouragement. It is nice to be able to be understood for once. My sister told me to get off the meds and just go talk to someone once a week. Doesn't work for me. This is a biological problem and the feeling comes back once off the meds. I did find a therapist who recommended gabapentin. I did try it yesterday and helped take away the side effects of lexapro. (hyperstimulation and indigestion). I've always had a mood disorder, then eating disorder, then this started 3 years ago.

Thanks and have a blessed day.

Thanks Sheri, I meant to post my reponse to you too. I've been reading these messages for awhile and finally decided to post. I guess you get to the point where you really need other people who understand. Thanks so much.

Hi, Pink! Welcome to our community. You are NOT alone.

I have had bad spells of panic over the years but it does run it's course eventually. Never soon enough):
