So, I went to visit DH at work and since it was the first time I'd been there I was getting introduced as was my DS. I was already a bit on the anxious side because I hadn't taken my xanax for the day yet. Everytime I said my name or my son's name to someone I panicked inside and thought "Is that the right name?" It's MY name for pete's sake! Is this absolutely insane? I realize that it has happened before and am wondering if I'm just plain crazy.

Noone's crazy/insane here. Not that we know of anyway;) More than likely, it's stress & anxiety. We begin to doubt even the simplest things. Try to keep busy & don't give it much thought. Things tend to hang around & bother us if we focus on them. Leave it behind. Try not to *what if* or second guess or overanalyze the situation. Those things can be the downfall of folks with anxiety. Certain people have been known to call a newbie Heather, when her real name is Robin. I know she's sorry about that. Really:) In fact, it's been nagging her all day that people won't like her as much for making a mistake. Don't be like me! Good luck! (((hugs))) jan

(((Robin))) I have felt EXACTLY like that when put in situations where my anxiety is high.

You ladies are awesome! Jan you crack me up!!! ;) I'm so happy that I found this board. I told my dh about it and he was happy too. It's the most comforting thing in the world to know I'm not alone. I hate hate hate that feeling of second guessing everything I do or say and then obssessing about whether the people think I'm an idiot for saying it. Aaargh! Why can't I just let things go?!?!! Again, thanks a million gals! I love you all.
