Went to Dr. today

I was so nervous about how to explain what was happening with me. But the doctor was very nice and she gave me a two week starter kit of Lexapro. I am a bit hesitant to take it but I guess I better. Does anyone here use it or has used it? If so what did you think of it? She didn't mention anything about a head doc but she did tell me to let het know how the meds work for me. Overall she was very nice and I felt comfortable.
But, I am in a crappy mood right now. I am taking it out on everyone else and it isn't fair. For one, I don't think I am getting a transfer so I am going to be stuck down here. What is even worse is that we live in a 2 bedroom duplex and our landlord is a slumlord. The guy doesn't fix anything. We have a leak in the laundry room from one of the hurricanes that hit last year and he still hasn't fixed it. Plus our fences are still down as well. I don't even want to pay rent because he hasn't fixed anything but I don't know if I can legally. It is a private owner and there is no lease. Plus my two kids are 5 1/2 years apart (boy & girl) and they are sharing a room and driving my wife nuts. Our credit is terrible so we can't get an apartment that would better suit us. I am the only one that works and I feel so overwhelmed and hopeless. I don't want to live where we do any longer but because of circumstance we are forced to remain here and it depresses me to no end.
I just feel that even with the meds I am still going to be miserable because of our living arrangements.
Take care
Rob

Rob, it sounds like it went well!

Glad to hear that you felt comfortable with the dr. I haven't taken the lexapro but it's one of the meds many of our members have been successful with. It will take 4 to 6 weeks for optimal results. It may be slow going, Rob. But, stick with it.
I spent 24 years in my last apartment.
Rob,
helping in a couple of weeks! You should notice relief from
the doom and gloom!
About your living arrangements without a lease I am not sure
what you can do??? I do know that a lot of people have been
slow here in FL doing repairs from the hurricanes!!
You could always get some neighbors to complain to the town
about the repairs!! GOOD LUCK and give the meds time to work! Judy
