I am in pain and nervous

Ok I hurt so bad in my back.I feel like my lower half is being squeezed which is causing my legs and hips to ache.I cant bend forward or backward w/o feeling like I am going to snap in half.It started yesterday when I found Audrey with a jar of vaseline, smearing it all over her feet, running and sliding threw the kitchen.(I use it on my feet for dry skin)I was so upset with her, that I cryed ,as this stuff was like sludge trying to get off the floor. As I went to get back up off the floor, this pain started instantly.I am panicking,as any kind of back pain reminds me of when I had kidney failure, caused from a stone.I did sleep really well, actually forgot about my back, until I stepped out of bed and the pain was right back again, except worse.I find some comfort with a pillow rolled up and put against the small of my back. This may sound silly but,if Dave holds me in the air with my feet dangling I also find comfort. My period is due,in 3 days.Dave thinks its all related and wants me to take midol.I cant take that because it has antihistime in it,cant mix with my tenormin. This is all causing great anxiety for me,my period coming is bad enough with anxiety,I cant handle this.I am so panicky.I am wondering if motrin will help.I have never taken that and kinda nervous about it.Does anyone have any ideas on relief, this hurts so bad that its causing me to cramp up and have to hurry to the bathroom.

That's a shame, Jeanie): I have to agree with Sheri Ann. Probably you twisted or pulled something in your back. If the pain isn't relieved with the motrin & getting into a comfortable posistion, then you ought to see a dr. The pillow sounds like

HI Jeanie,

I am sorry you are in so much pain. You might have pulled somthing when you fell. I have a hurniated disc in my back, so I know from back pain. You might have a muscle spasm, and motrin is good for that. I would take atleast 3 if your stomach can tolerte it. If you can get a muscle relaxer, that would help, too. Also, the fact that you are due for your period makes everything swollen, so that probably doesn't help the situation.

You might want to try iceing it, and lying flat on a hard floor. Ice will constrict the muscles. I know it sounds awful, but anything to take the pressure off your back. That is why it felt so good when your husband lifted you.

Best of luck, and if it doesn't feel better soon, you should see a chiropracter or an orthopedic.

Love, JD

Oh how I feel for you. All most three weeks ago I sprained my back at work. The first couple days the pain was crippling (hips lower back and legs) In the ER they took a MRI and found out I had a couple bulging disc and sciatic, and a sprained back.. PAINFUL!!
Mortirn is very safe to use or even advil. This should relieve some of the inflammation going on in your back. If you are really uncomfortable taking the medication try using a ice pack, you can all so try laying on your back with a pillow under your legs. For the next couple of days don't do any thing like lifting. Give your back a change to heal then ease into normal activity.

That must of been a huge mess OMG! How did you clean it up?

Jeanie~
If it feels better when being massaged try this: put one or two tennis balls in a sock and knot the open end. Have DH knead your back with the balls or just put them under your back while you are lying down. Having them in a tube sock will allow enough material on either side of them so you can hold each side of the sock while sitting up and roll the balls yourself. I was taught this trick when I was pregnant and I swear by it whenever I have a muscle anywhere that hurts. Hope you get to feeling better.
