Anyone know the latest on antidepressants and pg? I took 10 mg of paxil with my first with out any complications whatsoever (no birth defects, etc.) I read on the internet last night some latest studies indicating that paxil had an increased chance of causing heart defects? this is freaking me out, because we are ttc and i am still taking the paxil and need to. can anyone offer insight, please?

WB, Erikaa! We're glad to know that you thought of us. I am sorry that this is such a disturbing issue for us. Everyone wants to provide their growing baby with the healthiest environment possible. Here is a thread & the new paxil info on iVillage. I hope others can give you their thoughts. Seeking advice from your health care provider is still the best route. Good luck & GBU! Don't be such a stranger:) (((hugs))) jan

Hi Erika, check with your healthcare provider or your OB/GYN.

thanks so much ladies. it helps to hear someone took inderal with out any complications. i have not asked my OB about that med yet.... she just called and told me to switch off the paxil to either lexapro, prozac or celexa.

i guess once i actually get pg., i will ask her this in person....about the inderal that is. i only take it occassionally anyway... but i feel i need it when i take it.
