Zoloft for anxiety?

I was just curious how many of you have been prescribed Zoloft for anxiety and how effective it was? I started taking it on Tuesday, so today is day 3. How long until it takes full effect, on average? I know everyone is different, I just want a ballbark figure or something. Also, how long do you nrmally have to be on it? And can you take it while pregnant? DH and I were planning to have a baby within the next year. I know I need to talk to my doctor about all of this, but I thought I could ask my questions here before my next appointment.

Thank you
Jessica

Two weeks is the normal time frame the doctors give you for the medications to get into your system.

I copied this exerpt from the National Institutes of Mental Health website.

"The doctor chooses an antidepressant based on the individual's symptoms. Some people notice improvement in the first couple of weeks; but usually the medication must be taken regularly for at least 6 weeks and, in some cases, as many as 8 weeks before the full therapeutic effect occurs. If there is little or no change in symptoms after 6 or 8 weeks, the doctor may prescribe a different medication or add a second medication "
