So here's the thing. I have most everything you can think of or at least symptoms from it. I am clinically diagnosed with Bi-Polar and ADD. I suffer from severe panic attacks. My boyfriend broke up with me a while ago. From there I went to the hospital several times because of panic attacks, and then I stayed at a Psychiatric Hospital for several days. Since then life has been pretty good. I am on so many meds though. Lexapro, Depakote, Geodon, Concerta, and Klonapine. Lately though I have been having very bad panic attacks that mainly happen at night. I get in this mood, I feel disconnected from everything, I feel like I am going crazy, like I am going to lose it. Sometimes I get angry and want to break things. I go to therapy on a regular basis. But these nights are horrible. My therapist suggests that I plan out my evenings so I have structure and don't get home until around 9 or so....then I only have a couple of hours until I should go to bed. I am a full time student and I have tons of work to do....but my mood effects me so much I can hardly get anything done. During these panic attacks I am so far out of reality I don't know what to do. I can't reason with myself. I can't even move, or I can move and I am punching a pillow or trying to pull my hair out. I just don't know how to cope when I am that far gone.

Hello! I want to welcome you to our caring & supportive community. You are NOT alone. Many of us have the disconnected feeling & fears of insanity or *losing it* during panic. That is part of the process of being totally stressed. Some people call it unreality or derealization. In essence we feel as if things just aren't real. It's a difficult situation to deal with. Remind yourself that noone has ever died from a panic attack & you will NOT go crazy. Anxiety produces alot of negative thinking & to overcome this, it's necessary to reassure ourselves ALOT.

I hope you will take a look @ our *coping tips & tricks* folder below. I have found belly breathing, positive affirmations & meditation to help me the most during panic attacks. Also, the advice you have been given to structure your evenings is good. Routine is very important. Once again, you will find this info under developing better sleep patterns/dealing with insomnia. For me, a period of time is needed to
