i have a friend(honestly Im writing in search of aid for a friend)well shes a nurse & works for an undisclosed major CA county, she has suffers from anxiety & just recently been diagnosed & perscribed meds for the 1st time. These meds have her feeling groggy & hang-overish when she wakes up.Her wrk schedule starts at 5:30 AM.& with 2 toddlers early to bed is not an option. She put in at her work a request to start later in the morning(she also had written instructions 2 her employer per her Dr.)Her request was denied in a letter sent certified mail.(Her medical diagnosis & reasons were not disclosed to her employer....she thinks its not their business)She need some direction if any of you can help.Legally is this ok?Who can she go to & fight this?shes worked there for 10 years, her supervisor (who denied her)is considerably newer to the field.Does she have a leg to stand on?

Hello! It's nice to know that you're concerned about your friend. IMHO, you need to seek legal clarification on this one. We don't dispense legal or medical advice on this board. A qualified attorney would be able to advise you on what the American's with Disabilities Act covers. Your friend may or may not have rights. HTH Good luck & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
