Just down the road from me last Thursday a father came home from working the midnight shift at 7;30 am,went to bed.His gf woke him up at 9;30,telling him that his 17 month old daughter, wasnt breathing and very cold.Medical personal tryed frantically to save this little girl, who was pronounced dead at 10;31 am the same day. They ruled her death,SIDS.One of the parametics, disagreed argueing that the abrasion on her little face, was from being struck with something.Audtopsy* was performed.Cause of death was "suffered several blows to the head"My heart is aching.Investagation found enough evidence

Jeanie,

What an awful thing to happen. From what you said I assume you know the family and that must make this very difficult to deal with. I find it very scary to think about the bad, evil things and people in this world. I guess that all anyone can do is think where that little baby is right now, and send our prayers her way. We know she'll get them and know she was loved during her short time here. Meanwhile, try not to dwell too much on the horrible things that have happened and use that energy to do something extra special for your family as a way of recognizing how special they are to you. Hope this helps you some...I'll keep Gracie's family in my prayers.

I am sad, too, Jeanie. What a tragic situation. I am sending P&PT's to all concerned, including you, dear friend. Living so close like that, I am sure you have some thoughts & grief you will need to work through in the coming days. That is a tough situation): (((hugs))) jan

Thank you Meghan,no I didnt personally know the family.I have some friends who know family members of that family. Its just so sad,to know Gracie suffered like that. That women was always hurting that baby, the police and CPS just kinda kept documents, but never really investagated anything.Gracies mom did try to deny visits to the father.A standing court order prevented her from protecting her child.Makes me sick.Had the past abuse been proven without doubt, then Gracies mom would have her, today.Just so sad to know alot of these cases end in some child dieing to get the proof that was needed. Our CPS here is totally on the wrong track.Someone has to many dogs and cats and CPS is all over them.A baby with a bruised collar bone and face at 8 months old,RED FLAG wouldnt ya think?
