Are your meds working for your anxiety disorder?

  • Yes. I feel great.
  • I still have a ways to go, but I am on the right med.
  • I don't think the med is right. Maybe I need another med.
  • My med is right, but I need an increase in the dose.
  • I need something else to help with this med.
  • I feel awful. I need changes made to my meds.
  • I only take meds when I need them. Not on a daily basis.
  • I don't take any meds @ all.
  • Other. Please feel free to share your thoughts.

I've been a bit MIA the past week or so but I thought I'd chime in on this one.

I've been on my Effexor XR increase (up to 150mg) for 1 month now. The decrease in my anxiety level has been amazing. I haven't had a tension headace in 3 weeks! I am more able to let things go mentally, virtually no obsessive worrying or thinking. I don't feel drugged up or anything really...I feel like me, only more relaxed and able to let go a little bit. While in some ways it's killed my libido, in other ways I'm able to let go more so when we do it I have more fun. It's amazing how much the anxiety influenced every little aspect of my life!

Nice to see you, Shelly;) Bump means that the post fell to the second page, where you need to click on the *more* button to view it. So, to get it back on the front page for everyone to see, you can post a bump & it's back to the top of the front page, again. I bumped it up today because we have some folks that like to read the posts on Friday's because they'll be busy for the weekend. I thought maybe we could catch a couple more votes with the bump. HTH (((hugs))) jan

I just started effexor xr (more for depression than anxiety). Do those of you who take it take it in the morning or at night? It seemed to keep me awake last night, even though I took it in the morning! Right now, I'm on the "starter" dose of 37.5 mg but I'll move to 75 mg in a week. I hope I won't need more than that but we'll see. What do you take with it if it causes insomnia?

thx!
