If ever there was a boiling point...

Okay, I'm going to be lazy and copy the same post I used on another board:

Things are so bad at work now that I just told my coworker H. that I was going to go read the book of Revelations so I would know what to look for.

We just had a job candidate come in for a group interview, and she was so loud and obnoxious that I'm seriously considering going to work at McDonald's just so I can get away. But I will bet the funds in my 403(b) that she is the one who will be hired because the boss had already said she liked her the best. You know it's a bad sign when the candidate hits it off right away with Gospel Lady (the weirdo in my office who goes around singing gospel music). Everyone else at the conference table kept throwing each other looks. Nobody else could get in a word edgewise.

The freaking INTERN just chewed me out. What is that about? I am at least 5 years older than this girl, and she has no room to talk. She doesn't do jack squat worth of work. Witch.

A project that I didn't even know about got forced on me, and I have to spend tomorrow afternoon working on it with a colleague.

*****

I am seriously about to lose it. Between all this CRAP with my mom and all the stress I already have at work, I am practically shaking. Thank God I had the foresight to cut my lunch hour short today so I can leave earlier than I normally would. I really cannot take much more of this.

WOW! I have never heard you like this before, Laura. By now, I hope you have calmed down some. I know that things haven't been good @ your work for sometime, but is this really worth quitting over? I hope you will give yourself some time to think. If it truly is an unbearable posistion, do you have feelers out for a new job? Can you transfer to another department? I can only imagine how things work in the business world. It seems to me that some newbies are annoying no matter where you work. Let us know how things are going. Let me say good luck to you & throw some PT's your way. (((hugs))) jan

Aw, I didn't mean to freak you out. No, I cannot quit this job without having another one. That is what makes me so frustrated--I'm stuck here until I can get hired for something else. I am in the process of applying for a job in another department here. Please, please, keep your fingers crossed. I know I am the perfect person for this job because the work relates to what I do now and because I already work here, they wouldn't have to train me much in the database. I can hit the ground running.

My employer offers free, confidential career counseling so I am taking advantage of that and I have an appointment this morning to go over my resume and cover letter so I can get my application in. Oh, and I know who the hiring manager is for the position and I've already e-mailed with her and let her know of my interest.

It doesn't take much to freak me out;) I was concerned because that little red tea kettle icon scares the you know what out of
