I've been bouncing between anxiety and depression all day. At times I just feel super angry!! Were leaving this afternoon to go to our cabin up in NY state. (We live in PA.) We'll be gone until late Monday night. I babysit my 4 yr old grandaughter and her parents have to work so shes going with us. At least she'll be company for me. I don't enjoy the cabin, its just alot of extra work for me, another house to clean. Its very isolated and I don't find that relaxing, just boring. DH loves it so its a vacation for him. I do all the cooking, cleaning etc while he relaxes and enjoys himself. He loves riding his 4wheeler. We have a big pond stocked with fish so he can fish. Lots of fun for him! For me its always a relief to get back home. I'll be without internet, and just the cell phone until we get back. I'm tired of him telling everyone "were" getting a little vac. Its his vac not mine!! I know I probably sound like a stick in the mud but this just isn't my idea of a fun, relaxing vac. It seems like everything we do revolves around what he wants and enjoys! I would rather stay home and have a picnic with family and friends. Its not fun alone in that isolated cabin. Ok enough complaining. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Sharon

I can totally relate, Sharon. Did you ever notice that vacations are never really a vacation for us women? All the planning & forethought that goes into that planning, always falls on good old mom. Did dh plan the menu & pick up the groceries for this fantastic getaway??? Highly unlikely:) Cleaning is something I abhor. How about telling dh that the fun begins when the cleaning is done? That is how I

Hi Sharon,

I noticed in your profile you are a very creative talented person! Is there any way you could bring some projects with you to make the trip more fun for you?? If nothing else plan a baking marathon with your granddaughter and have fun! My girls love to bake and do crafts.

Hope your trip turns out to be a good one,

Lisa

Hi Sharon, I agree with the others, bring along some activities that you & your grand daughter can enjoy.
