Class, car, and anxiety

I had my review class today and my car got really warm driving down there!! Driving is bad enough without car problems to scare you to death. I made it there ok and tried to concentrate.
After class the car started heating up on my way home. I stopped at a store to *hopefully* give it time to cool down. The only thing that saved me was the rain came down in sheets!! It was pretty hairy for a while and drivers were pulling over. But the car cooled down.
I have school tomorrow and cannot get my car in until late afternoon to check the thermostat!! I cannot miss this class there are only 8 total!! So I am terribly anxious about taking the car to school and back tomorrow but I don't have any options.

I guess we were posting @ the same time, Lisa. Sorry.
I know nothing about cars. Is there a little red light that comes on when the engine overheats? I know I have a temperature gauge. Anyway, I had that happen a couple of years ago & pulled into a filling station. They put in some sort of fluid that helped. In fact, when I got it to the garage, it didn't need any major repairs. I wish that kind of luck on you:) Can you borrow anyone's car? Is there public transportation? Anyone travelling your way? I know how anxious I get when the car is on the fritz. Sending PT's your way. Will you be in chat? Hope to see you there. (((hugs))) jan
Hey Jan,
My temp guage is what is indicating the overheating, if you thermostat is broken the light may not come on and your car does not turn any fans on to cool the engine or whatever its supposed to do. I'm not entirely sure. A few months back my car was doing this so we changed the thermostat, well I think it was faulty or there is another problem. Gosh I really don't know and its killing me.
My drive to school is about 40 minutes and there isn't anyone to get a ride with. I am going completey nuts here!! I need chat..lol
thanks,
Lisa
turn on the heat in the car for some reason this gets it out of there!
I know it is probably hot there but you could pull over and do this----
HOPE IT WORKS OK TOMORROW!!!! GEEEEEE TOO MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT!!! HUGS!! Judy
Thanks Judy!!
I have checked the radiator overflow thing and I have the right amount of green water in there. Plus I have been trying the heater trick, I think it helps some but I am still terribly worried. There is definately something not good going on in there!!
I just have to make this trip one more time before I get the car fixed in the afternoon. I am praying nothing goes wrong and that I can get to the car place in time before the holiday weekend.
HUGS,
Lisa
Gees, Lisa, did you ever hear that saying, if something can go wrong it will ? ;)
Sheri Ann
Thanks Sheri Ann,
I hope its fixable!! I can't afford a new car right now!
Hugs,
Lisa
