Breathing exercises helping!

Hey all! I had my mother (retired RN) check my blood pressure the other day, and my bp actually went down! Usually though, my bp has never really been that much of an issue except last week! I'm suspecting that the nurse didn't really know what she was doing, since she looked so unsure! At 33, I've never had an issue with high bp even during my present pregnancy. My mother checked my bp later, and found it to be normal. I'm actually due tomorrow, and despite the fact that I might be induced June 7th/8th if this baby doesn't come before then, I actually am not worried!
Right now, I'm attributing this to the "Back to 1" exercise where I have to breathe to myself from 0-10 until I'm just concentrating on my breathing. I'm hoping to continue with this trend.
Also, I've taken a leap of faith and called the local health department about that interview they're offering! I'm also applying for the accelerated program for Nursing at one of the local universities, since I already seem to have a majority of the pre-reqs out of the way! So much is happening yet, I'm not stressed out like I used to be. It's really great!
Right now, I'm just hoping that this exericse will help alleviate the "performance anxiety" I'm feeling as a result of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). After i deliver, I hope to continue more with the non-pg Yoga videos that I've accumulated/hard core workouts that I discontinued at the beginning of my 3rd trimester! Wish me luck!

I'm glad your BP is normal.

Jan/Sheri, thanks for the encouragement! Worrying less about what might happen, and concentrating more on what you can do now, has alleviated my stress. I made a kind of late New Year's Resolution to myself that I will always try to do more than I think I can do at the moment. If I concentrate on that notion, then I can recover more easily from the stress that I create for myself in the long run. I think *perhaps* that was the problem I faced in my first official inspector job w/the State Agriculture department. I so didn't want to be there initially, because it was hard work. I then realized that sometimes, you just really have to shut your mind down, and just concentrate on the matter at hand. I think that if I did that then I wouldn't have created that much stress for myself. Also, when approaching a new job, concentrating more so on now than later is really helping me via the breathing! I'm so glad that I went to the Psychologist!
Sheri. Yes, I might have been stressed out, but at the same time, I didn't know I was being induced until much later. Anywho, at least it went down! Thanks again for your encouragement as well!
